A Safe Space for Connection, Understanding and Growth.
Life can feel heavy at times — especially when familiar patterns repeat, relationships become complicated, or emotions feel hard to untangle. You don’t have to make sense of it all alone. Therapy offers a safe, reflective space to slow down, explore your experiences, and deepen self-understanding — creating the conditions for genuine growth and change.
About Me
My approach is psychodynamic, which means we’ll look beneath the surface exploring how past experiences and relationships shape your emotional world today. We will take a close look at your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, to better understand the roots of the challenges that you face. This isn’t about judgment or diagnosis, but about gaining insight and freeing yourself from patterns that no longer serve you. Together, we’ll work towards greater self-understanding, emotional balance, and a stronger sense of who you are.
I work with adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, and psychiatric diagnoses. I also have specialist experience in areas such as addictions, personality disorders, perinatal mental health, domestic abuse, and the impact of childhood sexual abuse and trauma.
I’m a speciality doctor in psychiatry who found my way into psychotherapy. Working in mental health across the NHS and private sector taught me a lot about how our emotional and physical worlds overlap, and I loved trying to make sense of what people were going through. But as my role became more about managing crises and writing emergency prescriptions, I started to lose the human connection that had drawn me into the field in the first place.
Shifting into counselling and psychotherapy has felt like coming back to what matters most to me. I now have the space to sit with people properly, to explore what’s really going on underneath, and to support meaningful change. My aim is to help you understand yourself more clearly, make sense of the patterns or feelings that feel difficult, and find a steadier way forward. Training psychodynamically involves extensive personal therapy and ongoing supervision—experiences that have continually deepened my appreciation for this way of working, both professionally and personally. I still care deeply about psychiatry and continue to advocate for both mental health professionals and the people we support.
Please note that I do not offer psychiatric or prescribing services privately.
